What is GAP
GAP is a unique program run by Hillel at UCLA that is designed to serve the needs of post-college Jewish young adults in Los Angeles. Our mission is to bring together Jewish grad students, young alumni, and young professionals and their friends to create opportunities for them to build community together, celebrate their Judaism together, learn together and take action together.
GAP participants come from a wide range of educational, religious, and denominational backgrounds. Whether you consider yourself orthodox, conservative, reform, reconstructionist, secular, culturally Jewish, post-denominational, trans-denominational, "still exploring", or anything else, you are welcome to attend GAP events!
What we do
GAP staff, chairs, and participants work together to plan a variety of activities throughout the year including Shabbat services, festive meals, holiday celebrations, hiking trips, social action events, classes, and more!
Life after GAP
GAP sees its role in the Los Angeles Jewish Community as serving those young adults who have graduated from undergraduate Jewish student life and are seeking to find a community of other Jewish young adults. A part of GAP's mission is to help its older participants explore the Los Angeles Jewish community and to help them transition away from GAP activities and into a synagogue, chavurah, or another adult Jewish community that is right for them.
JBSA
Jewish Business School Students Association.
JLSA
Jewish Law Students Association promotes the needs of Jewish law students at the Hillel at UCLA as well as planning social gatherings and community service opportunities.
JMSA
The purpose of the Jewish Medical Students Association is to bring together a group of medical students who share common interests and backgrounds in order to provide medical and spiritual services to needy members of our community through health fairs and Shabbat services. In addition, we aim to enhance the understanding and relevance of Jewish medical ethics to our future practice as physicians.
