Application deadline is Wednesday, May 5th. Interviews will be held the week of May 10th.  If selected, save the date for Hillel @ UCLA Leadership Recognition Forum, Wednesday, May 26th & Leadership Retreat Sunday, September 26th (all day). We are seeking highly motivated, self-starting, detail-oriented students for a cadre of leaders at Hillel at UCLA. All roles within leadership will positions begin in May 2010 and conclude on April 30th, 2011 unless otherwise noted.  Please complete your application form and email it to Arlene, arlene@uclahillel.org and Devi, devi@uclahillel.org

LEADERSHIP

President

The Hillel at UCLA President will serve as the liaison to campus, other student groups, and serve as Hillel’s ambassador to our Board of Directors and greater community.

Vice-Presidents

Working under the Hillel at UCLA President, Vice Presidents will oversee four core areas: Engagement, Shabbat & Holidays, Community Building and Social Justice.

Expectations and Benefits for Hillel Leadership Roles

 Expectations:

  1. Attend leadership orientation session
  2. Attend weekly meetings.
  3. Recruit students for existing Seders and/or provide alternative Passover experiences.
  4. Participate and bring friend to quarterly Phone-a-Thons.
  5. Access campus financial resources to support events.
  6. Participate in tabling rotations.
  7. Reach out to a variety of social networks when creating opportunities for the broader Jewish community at UCLA.
  8. Support Jewish life on campus (Shabbat & Holidays, recruiting/participating in Taglit birthright Israel and Alternative Spring Break, etc.)

INTERNSHIPS

Campus Entrepreneur Initiative (CEI)

CEI Interns receive $1,800 per year for 10 hours per week, as well as a 5 day training institute in the summer. CEI Inerns use their broad social networks to develop relationships with at least 60 uninvolved Jewish students on campus. CEI interns serve as a resource, connecting uninvolved Jewish students to meaningful Jewish opportunities and are given a budget to plan an initiative that provides such experience. To apply, visit www.campusinitiative.org.

MASA Intern

The MASA Intern participates in the CEI program, focusing on connecting students to long and short-term programs in IsraelTo apply, please contact Devi Reznik devi@uclahillel.org.

Executive Interns

Executive Interns will receive $2,000 per year for 12 hours per week and supervised by senior staff at Hillel @ UCLA. Regular Jewish learning, professional development and access to subsidies for participation in Alternative Spring Break, Taglit birthright-israel, etc, are provided. Executive Intern (Communications) – Maintain Hillel at UCLA website, including calendar and email blasts. Compile monthly/quarterly e-newsletter and provide key support for yearly newsletters/annual reports.

Executive Intern (Student Life & Parent Fundraising) – Support the Student Life Department, under the Associate Director for Jewish Student Life. Manages quarterly phone-a-thon, assists with Hillel at UCLA Board of Directors, and oversees special projects relating to Jewish student life.

Executive Intern (Career Networking & Senior Class Gift) – Support the Student Life Department, under the Associate Director for Jewish Student Life. Create opportunities for students focusing on career networking events and workshops as well as graduate school information events. Provide unique opportunities for senior class in their final year at UCLA, culminating in senior class gift.

Executive Intern (Executive Director & Faculty Outreach) – Carry out special projects for the Executive Director and provide support for faculty outreach.

GRINSPOON INTERN

The Grinspoon Intern receives $1,500 per year for 10 hours per week. The Grinspoon Intern plays a central role in the recruitment of participants for Taglit birthright-israel and coordinates follow-up opportunities for recent alumni of Taglit birthright-israel. To apply, please contact Oded Oron at Israel@uclahillel.org
