
INTERNSHIPS at HILLEL AT UCLA 2009-2010
Internship Positions
Open only to 3rd/4th/5th year undergraduate students by Application.
We are seeking highly motivated, self-starting, detail-oriented students for a new cadre of interns at Hillel at UCLA.
EXECUTIVE INTERNS
The Executive Interns will receive 2K per year stipend for 12 hours per week. They will be supervised by senior staff and will engage in regular Jewish learning as well as professional development. The Executive Interns will have access to $200 each of grant funds for their own immersive experiences.
Executive Intern (Development) – Provide assistance for Development department in areas of fundraising, donor cultivation, and marketing.
Executive Intern (Communications) – Compile weekly blurbs on Jewish student life as well as write monthly profiles of students/student initiatives/student groups. Compile weekly Hillel Happs. Manage facebook group for Exec. Director targeting alumni. Compile monthly/quarterly e-newsletter and provide key support for yearly newsletters/annual reports.
Executive Intern (Student Life/Parent Fundraising) – Provide support to the Student Life Department focusing on special projects for the Associate Director for Jewish Student Life, managing quarterly phone-a-thons, and graduating senior projects.
Executive Intern (Exec. Dir. Asst./Faculty Outreach) – Carry out special projects for the Executive Director and provide support for faculty outreach.
PEER MENTOR INTERNS
The Peer Mentors will each receive 1.5K per year stipend for 10 hours per week. Oversee and participate as needed in ALL programs under category listed on next page. This group will meet bi-weekly with student leaders and weekly with supervisees. The Peer Mentors will also sit on the lay board of directors and be signatories for the Jewish Student Association. The Chair will rotate quarterly amongst the 4 interns. The Peer Mentors will engage in monthly Jewish Learning and be provided with their own lay mentors. They will also sit on the Student Life Committee and the Jewish Leadership Council. Peer Mentors will have access to $200 grant funds for their own immersive experiences.

DORTORT INTERN
The Dortort Intern will work under our Director for the Dortort Center for Creativity in the Arts. Assist in organizing new art exhibits, concerts, conferences, documentary series, as well as focus on student art. 2K per year stipend at 10 hours per week
