Julia is the Director of Community Philanthropy of Hillel at UCLA. She has a fierce passion for aligning donors’ values with philanthropic opportunities and is inspired by the stories of impact shared by students, parents, alumni, and the broader community. Hillel holds a special place in Julia’s heart – as an undergrad, she served on the Hillel student board and helped organize the annual Jewish freshman orientation, Freshfest.
With almost two decades of experience serving the Los Angeles Jewish community, Julia has a proven track record of success in fundraising, donor relations, and community engagement. Most recently, she served as Director of Philanthropy at Temple Israel of Hollywood. Previously, she held positions as Vice President of Donor Experience, building and supporting the Real Estate & Construction Network, as well as Chief of Staff of the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles, Director of Programs and Marketing at Kehillat Israel Congregation, and Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Admissions Counselor at American Jewish University. She is excited to return to her work supporting Jewish college students.
A Berkeley, California native, Julia received a Masters in Jewish Nonprofit Management from Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion and a Masters in Communication Management and Bachelors degrees in Religion and Communication from the University of Southern California. While she may know the USC fight song, Julia is excited to learn the 8-clap and cheer on our Jewish Bruins with pride!
