Meet me at Yiddish and Rock ‘n Roll – An Unlikely Though Harmonious Intersection on Fairfax with Simon Rutberg, Hatikvah Music

Hatikvah started life as Norty’s Music Center in 1948. Simon came on board in the 1960’s and transformed it into Hatikvah Music in 1989. It soon became the largest purveyor of Yiddish (and Jewish cantorial and Ladino) recorded music in the world. Though the storefront is long gone, HatikvahMusic.com is still the go-to place for everything from the rarest to the best of Yiddish music of the last century. Special compilations and popular Yiddish music will also be available for purchase after the talk.
